The adidas Stockholm Marathon takes you through the streets of a beautiful European capital built on 14 islands. The course of this race offers spectacular views of a unique city with varied scenery, including nature and an impeccably preserved medieval city centre. The enthusiastic crowds will cheer you along the route and lead you to an unforgettable finish at the 1912 Olympic Stadium, the home of 83 officially recognized world records in athletics. No other arena in the world comes close to that number and hopefully you can have your own record finishing the adidas Stockholm Marathon at this stadium.
The course builds on the classic route — but with a new rhythm and slightly flatter. Vasagatan takes runners straight down toward Gamla Stan, which is now circled on both passes. On Södermalm, the course for the first time cuts straight through vibrant SoFo before turning north again. And on Kungsholmen, a longer, crowd-friendly stretch awaits along Norr Mälarstrand all the way to City Hall. The most demanding sections — Katarinavägen, Hornsgatan/Lundagatan and Västerbron — also come earlier in the race, shaping the race experience already from the midpoint of the marathon. A familiar course, in a new order — with even more city vibes, crowds and character.
We'll build your training around race day and turn every Strava activity into a step towards the start line on Saturday 30 May 2026.
