The course
A city loop through central Barcelona that starts on Passeig de Gràcia and finishes at the Arc de Triomf, on Passeig de Lluís Companys. The early kilometres run through the Eixample, with a long straight on Carrer de València from about 5 to 10 km, before passing the Sagrada Família at around 14 km. The course then follows Avinguda Diagonal past Torre Glòries into Poblenou and out to the Parc del Fòrum, and returns along the seafront between roughly 25 and 30 km. The last stretch comes back through the old town to finish beside the Ciutadella park. Most of the route is flat, with gentle rises and falls through the grid. Route map and elevation profile below.
